It’s that time of year again where I like to sit down and think about my goals for the next upcoming year. I love to set goals for the new year as it gives me something to work towards and motivates me to work hard to achieve them. This year I feel is going to be a successful one for me or at least I’m going to try and make it successful, I feel so ready to work hard and see what comes from it.
FOCUS MORE ON MY BLOG
I have to admit during 2019 I did neglect my blog completely. There were many reasons for it, mostly down to my full time job at the time being very time consuming and brain numbing so I lost my creative flare a little. This year I am going to work on my blog more and write more. I often forget that my blog is what started this whole journey and I don’t want to loose sight of what it was that got me where I am now. So look forward to a lot more blog posts coming to your screens in the year of 2020.
REACH MY NEXT GOAL ON INSTA
We all know that Instagram can be the devil and who knows if Instagram will make it through 2020 especially with all the changes it is making BUT if it is still here (which I am pretty sure it will be because its such a popular platform) I hope to hit 80K and would absolutely love to hit 100K. I know 100K may be pushing it but I think you’ve got to set yourself high goals to keep yourself working hard to get there. I am intrigued to see where instagram goes this year but I do hope it still stays a platform for creatives to share their work and to building their business.
REACH 10K SUBS ON YOUTUBE
During the last 3 months or so of 2019 I started to focus on my youtube a little more. I have always wanted to do youtube as I love watching youtube videos! The more I worked on it, the more I saw results. I hit 1000 subscribers which was such an achievement for me, especially as I left it until late in the year to really work on it properly. This year I hope to hit 10K subscribers which I reckon is something I can definitely achieve and I am excited to see where my YouTube journey takes me!
GET MORE ORGANISED
After becoming self employed in September last year, I have realised that it is so important to be organised otherwise you end up in an absolute mess and your head is all over the place. This is something I was to refrain from happening in 2020 so you will find my diary attached to my hip along with the many notebooks I have to write ideas and plans down in. I will become more organised!
TAKE MORE TIME FOR ME – PAMPER MORE
After this Christmas break, I have realised how good I feel when I have taken time for myself. I dont often spend time pampering myself and in the last 2 months or so I struggled to even give myself time to paint my toenails which I used to be quite good at keeping on top of. I know that’s not something that is particularly important but it is something that always makes me feel good. You know that feeling when you have your nails done, your hair looks good, you’ve fake tanned – its just the best feeling. I want to try and pamper myself more, I’d like to say once a week in some way shape or form. Even if it’s taking some time to chill with a face mask on. Just take a bit of time to relax and make myself feel good.
GROW/LOOK AFTER MY HAIR
In October, I spontaneously decided to chop my hair. I know shorter hair suits me so I just went and got it cut but looking back I wish I’d left it as my hair would be such a nice length by now. SO I have made it my mission in 2020 to look after my hair and grow it and keep it healthy. I don’t look after my hair as well as I could and I reckon with a little bit of pampering my hair health will be amazing…I mean it’s actually it really good condition considering it’s bleached but it most definitely could be better.
Saving money is something I always struggle with, Partially because I have a problem when it comes to shopping but also because over the last few months, I have been moving and buying stuff for the flat which costs more than you first realise SO this year I am going to try and save more. I want to be able to have money to go on holiday or just saving for a house when I eventually can afford one or just saving for something I really really want. I just want to make a conscious effort not to spend every penny I have.
TRAVEL FOR WORK
When I started my blogging journey, I always dreamed of going on trips with brands and companies. Im not much of a traveler by myself so getting the chance to go away for work sounds like a dream. Now that this is my full time job, I would love to travel for work. It is something that I am going to see If I can make happen and hopefully when I read this back at the end of the year I will be able to say I managed to travel for work!
ENJOY AMSTERDAM MORE
As you know, I moved to Amsterdam at the end go August 2019 and I still can’t believe I actually did it. Now that the stress of moving is over, I want to make sure I enjoy Amsterdam more. I want to make sure I really take it all in and enjoy it for the beautiful city it is. I dont know If I will still be in Amsterdam by the end of this year or not, It’s hard to tell at this time of year but im excited to experience as much of Amsterdam as I can!
Since moving to Amsterdam and having to pay bills and buy food whilst also trying to maintain my shopping habit, budgeting has quite literally gone out of the window. I want to make sure that I am putting aside money for food, money for bills etc and then I know exactly how much I have to spend on clothes/flights to London or whatever it may be. That way I can actually keep on top of my money and not be like ahhhh im so poor all the time.
