At about this time every year, I like to sit and reflect on the goals I set myself back in January. It is nice to see what you have achieved and what perhaps you still need to work on. Sometimes life can get in the way which can make achieving your goals harder than you thought BUT the year isn’t over yet which means there’s still 3 months to tick at least one thing off that list.
I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the goals I set myself and add a few more to the mix. Because after all, it is always good to push yourself to work harder and achieve more for yourself.
This is one that I think I have done a pretty good job at. I started a new job at the end of 2018 which I knew was going to take up a lot of my time and I knew working full time as well as having a blog wasn’t going to be easy. I have to admit, I did have to let a lot slide for a while as I wasn’t able to keep everything up as well as I hoped I would. I feel as though this is an ongoing goal. One that I will always strive for.
MAKE MY YOUTUBE MORE ‘ME’ AND POST REGULARLY
This is a goal that I have actually only just started working on. Before going full time with this, I really struggled to find time to want to create youtube content. I always wanted to do it but I often felt exhausted from the commute to London or wanted to enjoy my weekend with friends and family. I now have the opportunity to make Youtube my little baby and I am really enjoying it. The more I do it, the more ideas I come up with and the more videos I want to create. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to do this as my job and being able to create content on many different platforms means I can be creative in so many ways. Like I said, this is only the start of me achieving this goal and im excited to see where I’ll be by the end of the year. As I am writing this I am on 693 subscribers which im bloody chuffed about!
SPEND MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS
This is one of those goals which will always be a goal I want to continue to achieve. Due to everyone having busy lives, me and my friends dont often get together. We do try our best and I have definitely seen them more this year which makes me happy because you know what it’s like when you all leave uni and go your separate ways, it’s not easy to see each other all the time. Annoyingly, now that I live in Amsterdam, I feel it may be a little harder for me to achieve this goal BUT I will still work on it and do what I can to see my best pals when I can.
REACH MY NEXT GOAL ON INSTAGRAM
Instagram has been a little bit of a whirlwind for me this year and honestly I didnt really think it was going to get to where it is right now. At the start of the year I was on 20K which I was so chuffed with and hoped to be at 50K by the end of the year. I can tell you now, that I am pretty sure I will be able to reach that goal. I am currently on 48K and even then, I still can’t quite believe it. I would like to extend this goal and try and reach 60K by the end of the year. I feel like I can do it and I’m ready to work hard to get there…Watch this space.
SAY YES TO MORE THINGS
This one has been tricky for me and I think it always will be because my anxiety always likes to get in the way. I have attended more events this year and even attend one by myself which I found incredibly hard but I did it. I am forever proud of myself for ever so slightly going out of my comfort zone and saying yes.
This year, I did actually say yes to something I never thought I would. I moved to Amsterdam. This is one of those things that I still can’t quite believe I have actually done but I am so incredibly happy that I did. It was one of those things that was definetly worth saying Yes to.
A couple of extra goals…
Since I have done pretty well with my goals so far this year, I feel like it’s about time I add a few more into the mix.
- Reach 3000 youtube subscribers
- Hit 60K on Instagram
- Work on having a better diet
- Feel more comfortable cycling around Amsterdam
