2017 has been a good year, I have done less than I intended to do but still achieved majority of the things that I wanted to. I always find that you give yourself certain goals and theres always a few that don’t quite work out the way you had originally hoped.
I am really proud of what I have achieved this year and I thought what better way to re evaluate my achievements than sharing them with you…
COMPLETING MY INVISALIGN TREATMENT
This time last year I was only 2 months into my Invisalign treatment and a year on, I have officially finished all my treatment and now only have to wear my retainers at night. It actually feels super weird not having to wear them all day everyday, you really do get so used to it. I am so happy with my teeth and feel very lucky to have been able to get Invisalign. I would recommend anyone and everyone to get them if you’re thinking about braces. So chuffed with myself that I stuck it out and now have straight teeth that I am happy with. There may be a chatty Invisalign video coming soon on my brand new YouTube channel….Click HERE to visit my channel and subscribe if ya wanna!
LEARNING TO DRIVE
I haven’t yet managed to pass my test but I now know how to drive and that in itself is an achievement for me. I have never ever been that interested in learning to drive. I just kinda wanted to be able to do it without the learning part. To be honest with you, I absolutely hated learning to drive and still do. I have failed 2 tests so far and have my 3rd at the end of Jan. Im hoping to god I can pass this one because I’m starting to get bored of failing. Annoyingly I have been told I’m a really good driver but I still haven’t passed. Hopefully by then end of Jan I’ll be here with a post about it but who knows. Im proud that I managed to stick with it and actually learn even though I have hated doing it so much.
WORKING HARD ON MY BLOG
This year I have been trying really hard to work on my blog and interact with my readers and other bloggers. I am so new to the blogger world in terms of all the technical stuff…i’m still learning now, a year and a half in. I still have no idea what SEO is and I am trying to get my head around it but my brain cant quite understand. I have managed 130 posts this year which I think is a bloody good amount considering I really tried hard to get content out. I wanted to great a body of work which allowed readers to look through my posts and delve into the world of I AM CHARLOTTE OLIVIA. I know its not about quantity but for me I really wanted to get as much out as I could. After all, I absolutely love doing this so I want to post as much as I can. I think for next year I want to work on creating higher quality posts with more interesting content. I feel like thats the next step for me in terms of making my blog better and worth the read. So chuffed with how far I have come with my little blog!
This year, I was lucky enough to be interviewed for The Grafton Press. For those of you who don’t know, its a magazine for one of the shopping centres in Cambridge. To some of you that might be nothing but for me, its a huge achievement. I never expected anyone to think my blog was worthy of sharing with others and to have a double page spread all to myself is insane. It makes me so happy knowing that something I love doing was shared with others. Best bit was that it was for my town and I love Cambridge. Its such a beautiful city with so many cute little photo opportunities. Thank you to all of you for helping me on the way through my blogging journey.
GETTING A NEW JOB
This time last year, I told myself in 2017 I needed to get a new job or at least try to get a new job. I did in fact achieve that little goal. I managed to bag myself a visual merchandising job which I fell in love with. I have now been doing it for 6 months and I have started to fall out of love with it. I love the job and I love the social part of it but its running me into the ground a little. Basically I have loved it but I am deffo ready for a new job. Its helped me along the way and has been amazing experience but I need more of a challenge which gets my brain working hard and this job unfortunately doesn’t take much brain interaction. I achieved the goal and thats the main thing, onto the next job I guess!
I have achieved a lot more things this year but these would probably be my top achievements and I don’t think they’re too shabby. Im pretty impressed with myself. GO CHAR!!
