9th August – PRETTY RE MERCH & NEW BAGS
The day began by me and Sophie being given the task to re merchandise the pretty trend. Its one of if not the hardest trend to re mech as it always has so much going on so its deffo one that takes a little more thinking but not too much thinking. We worked together on this one so that we could both learn how to do it better. We’ve done it before and it hasn’t gone so well so it was nice to do it again and have another go at it but work together to make sure we learn certain ways of doing it. Does that even make sense I don’t even know. I think this is the best we have done it so far and it felt so nice and pretty after. Really chuffed with it. To finish it all off, I then added this gorge bag to the front table just as you walk in as we had a graphic for it and they show ways of styling something which always makes people wanna buy things or is that just me? I think it looks quite nice if I do say so myself.
In the afternoon I gave myself the task of putting all the new bags out. Topshop have just brought in some amazing bags and quite a few of them at that. They are gorgeous and all at reasonable prices as well. It was really difficult as we have a bag wall and a table and I really didn’t know where to start. As the bag table is the first thing you see, I wanted that to be more of statement and and be quite powerful when you see it. I deffo spent a good few hours on this making it look good and making cure I got all the new bags in and looking fab. That furry back bag is adorable and the cute little ring detail bag is also one that I am deffo thinking about buying. I literally want all of them, they just look so nice. Don’t be surprised if you see one of these bags on the blog soon. Was a fun little afternoon. I do spend a lot of time on bags but it is satisfying when it looks good.
10th August – STOCK TAKE & URBAN RE MERCH
Most of my shift was taken up by stock take. Our store is pretty big so stock take is quite a long process. I didnt really get to do much on this day but me and Soph were given the task of giving the urban trend a bit of a move around.
Something you won’t know unless you work at Topshop or within the company is that the urban trend is actually turning into Rock/rocker girl which I am super excited about. Rock was a trend we had last year around autumn winter and I loved it. Its right up my street and has a lot of edge to it. All the new bits from rock are starting to come in so Urban is currently in a bit of a mess in terms of the stock is has as its half urban half rock but soon it will be full rock and super excited for it. Me and Soph made the walls all urban and then the fixtures all hold the rocker girl stock and are a little bit cooler. The mannequins don’t match at all but thats another story and has nothing to do with me.
11th August – NEW LINES
Today was possibly the biggest delivery I have ever come across, especially as it was only me and Sophie in so we had A LOT to do.
If you know Topshop well, these coats come back every year and they sell out every year. If you like them I’d get yours now before they do sell out. I personally don’t like them but they’re a big seller for Topshop and since no one wants a coat at the moment we had to put them on this fixture all together. They need to be out on the shop floor but no one wants one at all. It’s too warm for a coat. Says me who’s just bought a beaut one from ZARA.
Nobody’s Child new lines came in so I had a little play around with the layout and popped the new lines in. Nobody’s child is so difficult to make look nice as its all pattern so it just looks so busy but I think it look okay. That little floral white top is SO CUTE.
To finish off my day, I was back with bags as we had a few new ones which I popped in at the bottom of the bag wall. They’re the fluffy ones. I then replened the whole of the bag wall making sure it was nice and full for the weekend. The weekend is the busiest time as everything is shopped so much more so I wanted to make sure it was full so that if people wanted the bags there was enough out to be bought. It also looks so nice when its all full.
It was a nice little job that took up a little time before my shift finished.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks VM DIARIES. There wont be one next week as I have most of the week off but we will meet again on week 7 and hopefully I can bring you some exciting stuff. I will have a post in place of this one next week so keep your eyes peeled for that.
