We all know that the english spring weather… well, english weather in general is very unpredictable. We all know how how to layer in this country and in spring, the layers are still needed.
I wanted to share with you, How I styled spring time outfit for those cooler days. Perhaps its warm but theres a bit of a breeze or its sunny but it feels quite cool. To be honest, you never really know what the temperature is going to be until you’ve stepped out the door and felt it first hand.
I am that girl who always has an extra layer in her bag and at this time of year, I often have a jumper in there. It’s always good at this time of year to invest in a couple of lightweight jumpers which go with everything in your wardrobe. This one I am wearing here is from ZARA and I’m in love with it. As I am with everything in my wardrobe it seems. It’s actually quite a thick knit jumper but its great for the cooler evenings we have here in the UK. I especially love this one because of the colour. I kid you not, this jumper literally goes with everything in my wardrobe which is a win win for me. I can also just about get away with wearing it as a dress….So many different options.
For this look, I have tucked the oversized ZARA jumper into this beautiful polka dot print ruffle skirt from Topshop. I fell in love with this skirt after I saw it on a blogger and had to get my hands on it. I love the navy colour and feminine vibe it has. The colour palette of the skirt works perfectly with the jumper. I tucked the jumper in just at the side so that you could see the skirt but still gave a relaxed casual feel to the over all look. I love a relaxed, oversized jumper in the summer. Always good for pairing with feminine pieces.
To grunge the outfit up a little and give it more of a Charlotte Olivia twist, I have added my Converse. I live in my Converse and if you don’t own any, you need to get yourself a pair. I know thats its all about the old skool vans at the moment but Converse are a wardrobe staple. It’s also nice to have a change from whats trendy and going back to a core piece in your wardrobe. You can ask anyone I went to uni with and they’ll tell you how often I used to wear my Converse. Worth every penny. Any whooo, totally went off topic there. They give the perfect grungey twist to a otherwise feminine outfit. I have also added my Pull & Bear nude bag which I believe isn’t available anymore sadly.
what did you think of the look?
