We are all dreaming of our dream bedrooms and wanting a room full of prettiness, well I know I am thats for sure. I know it can be a little difficult to do much with your bedroom, especially if you’re renting or your parents won’t allow you to do anything with it. I wanted to bring you a few ideas which you could try with your room to add a little bit of prettiness into your life. The best part is these are all pretty cheap items so you won’t be breaking the bank, woo hoo!
1. Pretty Plates/ Decorative Pieces
Plate – Oliver Bonas
Little trinket plates such as this one from Oliver Bonas are perfect for putting jewellery somewhere where you wont loose it but they also look so pretty on your bedside table or shelf. If a little plate like this isnt really to your taste, something sweet like a cute jar or decorative piece will add something to your room without adding too much clutter. It just looks pretty – my answer to everything I buy for my bedroom (place the monkey with hands over its eyes emoji here)
Also this marble slab was bought from Home Sense for about £7 and has got to be one of my favourite room purchases. I found it in the chopping board section, go and have a look and see what wonders you can find in there!
2. Fairy Lights
Both sets of fairy lights shown here are from Primark and cost around £6 each which isn’t bad for how pretty they both are. I don’t actually use them for the lights, I just use them for decoration. These are both battery powered and don’t actually give off much light so if you’re looking for some fairy lights for the light they give off, these are not a good option. These make a perfect decoration to add to your wall, bed, around photo frames, on mirror or even just for taking blog photos. Something simple like this can make your room feel much more homely – perfect if you’re at uni or away from home.
3. Wall Art or Photos
One thing that can really bring a room together and give it that homely touch is wall art or photos. I hate having a room full of plain walls. I think its always nice to have a signature wall which had 1 lovely piece of wall art or is covered in photos of lovely memories you have. When I was at uni I had a wall full of photos and was so nice to look at when I was feeling home sick or down as it reminds you of the lovely memories you’ve got. This piece of art I was bought as a graduation present and it is an original drawing of a pug and I literally love it. It takes pride of place above my bed.
4. Hangers & Clothing Rails
This may be something which could be completely irrelevant to some of you. Having a clothing rail on display in your room is such a nice touch, especially if you have far too many clothes like me. I personally love seeing all my clothes on display so I actually know what I own. If you have a small room this might not be an option but pretty hangers might be? I feel like clothes on a pretty hanger makes the clothing look so much prettier. I bought these hangers more for display purposes but they do hold my clothes as well. Like I said this could be irrelevant to some of you but Its something to add to your room if you’re looking to fill a space.
Quotes can be so motivational especially if you struggle to motivate yourself or just make you feel good. This is pretty similar to idea 3 but I think its really nice to have quotes in your room as they can change your mood and make you think positive – lets hope anyway. This quote art I bought from coconut-lane.com and I adore it. Its literally me in a quote or saying. Its things like this which make your room personal to you and are nice to have if you’re away from home. You could literally have any quote you want on your wall, go crazy and find one that suits you!
