1 Pair Of Trousers, 4 Outfits

August 17, 2016
When I buy a new piece to add to my wardrobe, I always like to know that I’m going to get lots of wear out of it. I know sometimes you can get stuck with ideas to style certain items. This new collection of posts is designed to help you get the most out of your wardrobe and it begins with these black trousers.
Black tailored trousers like this are often seen as a smart piece which would usually be worn to work but I want to show you can style them in a cool and contemporary way. This post showcases 4 looks which take you from day to night!

1. Casual Day
Jumper & Trainers – ASOS
Teaming these black trousers with a sports brand or branded jumper/top like this will give the trousers a casual laid back vibe. A simple t shirt will create a similar look if you’re not a branded type of gal. Adding a casual piece like this will instantly take away the smart vibe of the trousers and make they look more relaxed. To keep the casual vibe running throughout, I teamed the look with these black vans but any trainers or casual shoes would work.
2. Smarter Day
Top – Brandy Melville | Trainers – Office | Bag – Anya Hindmarch
This is a slightly smarter casual day look which you could wear to work or a meeting or day to day if this is your kind of look. This outfit has more of a girly vibe with this feminine long sleeved top which I’ve tucked into the trousers. To match the top, Ive added these trainers which give a matchy matchy look to the outfit which I really like. I finally added this structured hand bag which keeps the smart look flowing.
3. Dinner
Top, Shoes & Bag – Topshop
This outfit could be classed as a day outfit but this is something I would wear to dinner so we’ll go with it. This outfit utilises the smartness of the trousers for a dinner outfit. Ive teamed the trousers with this strappy cami which adds a little bit of sexiness and the sandals are smart casual which keep the look from looking too dressy. The snakeskin bag is to add a little bit of colour to the outfit. As you can tell I don’t own much colour.
4. Night Out
Top – Missguided | Choker – DIY | Shoes – New Look | Clutch – River Island (old)
This has to be my favourite look out of all 4, I love a glam night out look. A simple crop top like this can work perfectly with a pair of smart trousers and make you night out ready in an instant. These trousers would be a perfect day to night transition piece. To tie the thin straps of the crop top into the rest of the outfit, I teamed the look with these scrappy sandals and a thin choker.  I personally think this look makes the trousers look quite sexy and would be a perfect winter night out look. I finished the look off with this fluffy clutch to give a little texture to the look.
