Buy a simple black cami dress here
Im pretty sure most girls have a simple black dress in their wardrobe that either gets worn too much or is too simple to work out how to style in the right way. The simple cami dress style has been around for a while and because they’re often a shapeless style, they can be a little tricky work around. Im here to show you a few simple ways of dressing up and down a simple black dress.
1. Casual – Sporty
This first look is all about dressing down and creating a casual vibe which you can wear during the day. I think the best way to create a really casual look is to team a dress like this with a sportswear brand such as Adidas. Adidas is a pretty popular brand and can create an urban street style vibe to an outfit whilst still fitting in with your own personal style. For this I teamed a pair of my favourite trainers and this simple Adidas jumper over top/ around the waist to give a little shape.
2. Casual – Girly
This look gives more of a girly vibe to the dress. I’ve teamed the dress with this oversized cardigan which gives a relaxed vibe but adds texture to the look. Ive done a little bit of matchy matchy with this look and teamed the outfit with these boots which match the colour of the cardigan. I personally think it works really well and brings the outfit together. You pay more attention to the black dress in this look which is good if you want it to work as more of a statement piece. A black bag would be the perfect accessory for this look and you could also add a belt to the dress if you want to add a little shape.
3. Casual/Dressy – Dinner
This look is a play on casual and dressy. You could 100% wear this either way depending on your style and what you like to wear. I’ve called it a dinner outfit as it works perfectly for that. This time I have belted the dress as the jacket is very oversized so by cinching the waist, you then don’t end up looking like a sack on potatoes. This satin bomber jacket is perfect for adding a dressier touch. The satin says feminine but the bomber says I’m kinda cool. To finish off the look, I have added these black chelsea boots which give a grungey vibe to the look.
4. Night Out
This look is my favourite of them all. I bought this jacket last christmas and I just want to wear it all the time but never have the right occasion. This is a night out look but again you could wear this to dinner if this is your style. This jacket instantly makes me think of Made In Chelsea and makes you feel so expensive. Because the jacket cuts off at a nice point on the body, there is no need for a belt but a belt would still work. Ive teamed the dress with these heeled boots which I adore. When I was at uni, I wore these to every night out I went on and the are the comfiest night out shoes I own. If you’re not a boots gal and you much prefer being classier, then a pair of heels would look fab. Finally Ive added this simple clutch which adds a feminine touch.
Let me know what you think!
