Something you may not know about me, unless you’ve read my about me page, is that over the last 3 years I have been studying fashion at university and boy has it been a good but stressful 3 years. During second year I chose to specialise in Fashion image and communication as fashion design gave me stress levels that no one needed to see. Im so glad I had the opportunity to specialise as I could have ended up making a very terribly made collection which would have got me nowhere in life. During third year I chose to specialise my work in styling. Styling is something that I have been interested in for years and only in third year did I actually do what I wanted to. Im not the best stylist out there but so incredibly happy about what I managed to produce in the end. Better yet, I was shortlisted for the Diversity Now: All Walks Beyond The Catwalk styling and art direction award and was a finalist in the Graduate Fashion Week Styling Award which proves to all those who have put me down over the last year that actually my styling isn’t too shabby. If any of you have been through final year of university, you’ll know it isn’t easy. You basically live and breathe your final major project or final piece to the point where you end up spending your spare time either sleeping or eating. On the 1st July, I graduated with a 2:1 in Fashion Image and Communication as it feels so good to say I have a degree. Feels horrible knowing I’m no longer am a student however. Incredibly proud of what myself and my friends have achieved.
Graduation day was a really strange but a lovely day. Strange because it really didn’t seem right to be graduating. I still feel like I should be going back in September. It was so incredibly surreal and I want to re live the day all over again, it was such a happy occasion and I got to spend it with my friends and family. What more could you ask for?
The most exciting part of graduation (apart from actually graduating) was that I won an award with one of my best friends. It was something so totally un expected as we won the award for a fashion film which we made last minute due to the first plan falling through. The last photo is a photo of me and my girl Lauren, waiting on stage before we got our award. Look at our little chirpy happy faces.
It was a beautiful day and I wanted to share the photos with you beauts. If you would like me to do a post about my university experience, let me know!
P.S. a couple of the photos are from the grad ball which I attended on the evening of graduation, just in case you get confused.
